The Patagonia Fishing Hosts Team

We know the water and the area around Patagonia very well! Some of us were born here and the rest of us have been fishing here for at least 15-20 years.

We are young enough to still have the appetite for catching fish! We won't leave the river or lake without catching fish - this is a job for us but at the same time it's our number 1 passion! In addition, we have been guiding for many years and we know what we want, how to do it and how to make a great experience in every sense from little details to everyday things.

Our host Pancho Panzer is in his mid-30s and very fluent in English, as are all our guides. He's been guiding for over 10 years and fly-fishing since he was 8 years old. He guided in Chile for some years as well as Argentina. Pancho has fished in Alaska, Montana, Colorado, Oregon and many other places in the U.S., as well as Venezuela, all around Argentina, Chile, and Labrador.

He was born in Santiago, Chile, and then moved to Buenos Aires, studied economics at the university, then came back to El Bolson, not far from Cholila, where he's pursued his passion of fly fishing off and on for 20 years.

Pancho wrote 90% of this website, in English. This is his "voice" you are reading.

Diego Raimondi, a guide, is in his mid-30s and has lived in Patagonia since he was 4 years old. He has been fly fishing for over 20 years and knows all the places to fish.

Diego Ravi, in his late-30s,was born in Buenos Aires where he learned how to fly fish and fly tie. He has been fly fishing since he was 18 years old all around north and central patagonia. He studied Accounting and Hotel Management and Administration at the University in Buenos Aires. Around 1995 he couldn´t avoid Patagonia´s call anymore and moved to Esquel, where he has been fishing the Los Alerces area ever since. He became a fly fishing guide in 2002. During the off-season when he is not guiding he ties flies in preparation for the next fishing season. Diego has fished Patagonia as well as the Lake District in Chile. He is very fluent in English and speaks a little Italian and French too.

Aldo Castillo is an assistant guide, driver, a real Gaucho, who cooks the best Asados (barbecues) that you will ever eat and can fix almost any food. He's also in his mid-30s.

Nelson Coronado has a background similar to Aldo's and works closely with him.

Facundo Arrias, guide, 22 years old, was born in El Bolson and has been fishing these waters for ever. He has an incredible future, is excellent in the water and a passionate flyfisherman.

Tilsa Noemi Navarrete, Chef, has been cooking for over 11 years in fishing and skiing lodges. Cooking is a passion for her. She works in Cholila half of the season and then in Bariloche in the winter at a ski resort. She is an expert in regional dishes and a superb dessert maker. She believes that God gave her the talent to cook and she is happy to share it with Carrileufu Valley Lodge customers.
